Christina and Jovanie landed in New York off a red eye flight on May 17, 2013. They got to the hotel and all Christina wanted to do was get some more sleep and get some food. Jovanie, however, had other plans in mind. Jovanie rushed Christina to get showered and dressed. After they hopped on the subway she kept trying to figure out where they were going (and if food was going to be there lol). Jovanie wouldn't tell her a thing and labeled it all as a surprise. Jovanie was real nervous. They got off the subway and started walking a distance to the famous NYC Love Sculpture. As they walked towards it Christina hugged Jovanie's arm and said "How cute! Let's go take a picture!" When they got to it they admired it and Jovanie told Christina to sit in the middle of it.
"I thought, This is it! He's going to propose! But then he pulled out of his backpack a huge Louis Vuitton gift box and then I got really disappointed in myself for thinking he was going to propose."

Christina opened the box where inside laid a beautiful purse that she had wanted for the last couple months. Christina thanked him, feeling really happy about the purse but also disappointed for thinking he was going to propose in that moment. Just when Christina was about to get up Jovanie said, "Aren't you going to look inside?" Christina opened the purse and inside was a ring box. She opened the box and the ring she had picked out a couple of months prior was in it. She started shaking and her mouth dropped and she was speechless. Jovanie took her hand, looked into her eyes and said, "I love you. Will you marry me?" That was all Christina needed to hear. She nodded yes and he slipped the beautiful ring on her finger. Afterwards, they stepped to the side and both had the biggest smiles. Jovanie then told her that he had spoke to her parents prior and asked for their blessing. Christina then proceeded to cry. Needless to say, she was the happiest woman in New York this day!
